When Rosemary’s intentions become clear to the aging, sick Dr Felton, it sets off a chain reaction of events that will pit the woman against the unsettled old man, a secretive cult, and a lethal nun clad in red in Remothered: Tormented Fathers.
Remothered: Tormented Fathers will have players carrying out Rosemary’s investigation, looking through the world for clues as to how Dr Felton’s daughter, Celeste, went missing so long ago. Players won’t be seeking out items to solve what the developer calls “silly” puzzles, though, instead just finding what they need to understand what happened.
Players will want to keep an eye out for impromptu weapons, though. They will be constantly stalked by beings who will be looking and listening for them, so players will need to be ready to run, hide, or grab whatever’s on-hand to fight back. The player cannot kill these stalkers, though, so most tools will just give them a quick opportunity to escape.
The game’s eerie soundtrack is provided by Nobuko Toda, composer for several Metal Gear games, as well as NightCry, and promises to create an eerie experience as players try to stay alive while solving the case.
Remothered: Tormented Fathers is set to release on PC and PS4 this year. Interested players can sign up for a newsletter that grants access to the beta, as well as gives information on the game’s progress, from the game’s site.
