A new alpha trailer has revealed some of the monsters, as well as the player’s means to fight back against them, for roguelike horror game Basingstoke.
Players will spend much of their time staying away from fast, persistent monsters in Basingstoke, as getting caught means a gruesome end and starting the game all over again. The city is randomly generated on each run, putting several location chunks together to create a unique stage.
Players can find weapons, from shotguns to lightning blasters, as they skulk through the shadows, giving them a means to turn back their dangerous opponents. They will also have access to vending machines that sell useful equipment as they try to escape the city.
There is still no release window for Basingstoke.
