Fossil Echo is a 2D platformer about a young boy who climbs a mysterious tower in the middle of the sea. It takes influence from the Oddworld series, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, and Studio Ghibli films.

As you steadily climb this dangerous tower, the boy has flashbacks that steadily answer how he got to this tower, as well as give insight as to why he is there.

Back in the present, you’ll have to practice stealth to get past characters during your ascent. There are also eight challenge temples that offer snippets of information regarding the game’s lore and back story.

Little else has been revealed about the game, but we do know that Fossil Echo is set in a fantastical land so you can expect some magical moments mixed in with the climbing. It’s also hand-animated by two people who have focused on delivering quality over quantity, hence why it’s quite a short game, apparently.

You can vote for Fossil Echo on Steam Greenlight while the game’s website offers more information.
