4Gamer have shared a 12-minute preview of Freedom Wars, Sony’s upcoming cooperative multiplayer game for Vita.

Developed by Shift, the studio behind God Eater, the game takes place in the far-future, where human beings live in underground cities known as Panopticons. Due to an overpopulation problem, anyone found guilty of a crime is sentenced to 1 million years in prison, and the only way to reduce that sentence is to serve as a volunteer in war.

Freedom Wars is available in Japan as of today. A western release has been confirmed, but Sony haven’t announced a release date for the game yet.
