Next week’s 3DS Virtual Console release in Japan is a Sunsoft title — a platformer titled Trip World for the Game Boy. You play as a shape-shifting rabbit-type creature called Yacopu.

Each of his forms allows for traversal over land, air or water. You can either walk, turn your ears into wings, or turn Yacopu into a fish.

Trip World is broken up into five stages, with each one ending in a boss fight. The one cool feature here is that most enemies aren’t aggressive. They just push you around, and you don’t take any damage from this. Instead, your attacking first will piss some of them off.

On the original Game Boy, Trip World was only released in Japan and Europe, so we aren’t sure if it will be released on the U.S. eShop or not, at some point in time.
