A Genshin Impact Cafe Collaboration is Coming to Japan

Sweets Paradise will be hosting a Genshin Impact cafe collaboration, known as “Banquet of the Breeze,” in 12 Sweets Paradise cafés throughout Japan. The event will begin on September 1, 2020, and end on September 30, 2021.

Details including the menu and merchandise have already been revealed. To visit, patrons must first make a reservation online. In order to purchase from the collaboration menu, there is a “Viking” order surcharge: ¥1,490 (tax included) (~$14) for adults, and ¥1,040 (tax included) (~$10) for children. The food items range in price from ¥700 (~$7) to ¥1,100 (~$11), and contain classic Japanese theme café items such as pancakes and toast.

Customers who purchase from the collaboration menu will receive one of two luncheon mats at random, with one limited to each customer. For customers who order either food or drinks, they will also receive one of 22 character coasters, again at random. Lastly, those who order from the drink menu will receive one of 21 chibi character coasters, as usual, at random. During the reservation, customers will have the opportunity to shop from the collaboration store. Goods include keychains, postcards, badges, and more!

Themed cafés are very popular in Japan, and despite the pandemic, people continue to regularly visit these cafés. These cafés will typically theme food, drinks, and the atmosphere around characters and environments. However, Sweets Paradise has instead opted to simply add cutouts of characters to food items. The drinks, however, seem to be better suited to the color and personality of characters.

Genshin Impact originally launched on Android, iOS, Windows PCs, and the PlayStation 4 in September 2020. Now available on the PlayStation 5 as well, Genshin Impact has become a wildly successful and popular RPG. As recent as last month, version 2.0 added new content, including the Inazuma region. The Genshin Impact collaboration begins in Japan on September 1, 2021.
