Genshin Impact Clarifies Details on Serenitea Pot System

Genshin Impact made a big splash when developer miHoYo previewed changes coming in the 1.5 update titled “Beneath the Light of Jadeite.” Of the various upcoming content drops, the most novel addition might be the “Serenitea Pot,” a new feature that essentially functions as a player-owned in-game housing system. Players will gain a space of their own to decorate as they please and use as a sort of home base.

Though the Genshin Impact 1.5 trailer included a quick glance at the Serenitea Pot system, some questions remained about the details. MiHoYo took to the Hoyolab community site to answer a few of those concerns.

In a Developer’s Discussion article dated April 17, 2021, miHoYo answered the most frequently asked questions they received about the Genshin Impact Serenitea Pot system.

They clarified that materials needed for crafting Furnishing items to decorate the interior can be found by harvesting items from the game world. For example, cutting down trees will yield wood, and ore mined from clusters can be used in creating Furnishings. Materials and other Furnishings can be unlocked by increasing “Teapot Spirit Trust Rank”, or obtained through shops like the “Realm Depot” or “Teapot Traveling Salesman.” A “Realm Treasures” vendor will offer new items, including a new type of resin that degrades over time.

The Salesman in particular will refresh their offerings each week, and the offerings will differ based on each player’s Realm, encouraging Genshin Impact players to visit each other in search of new Serenitea Pot items. Unfortunately, the ability to exchange Furnishings with other players is not planned.

Though players can decorate the Genshin Impact Serenitea Pot area with Furnishings, at the time of release, those Furnishings will not have interaction options, as these are still under development. Similarly, a gardening component is also planned to allow players to grow items, but is still in development. Players will also be able to station characters they own in the Serenitea Pot’s “Abode” area, but this feature isn’t going to be available until the version 1.6 update.

Genshin Impact is available on PS4, iOS, Android, and PC. The Serenitea Pot feature will debut alongside the version 1.5 update, which launches on April 28, 2021. The update will add new story quests, the new character Yanfei, and give players another chance to acquire Geo Polearm user Zhongli.
