miHoYo has opened up the preview site for the upcoming Genshin Impact Version 1.5 update, Beneath the Light of Jadeite. Earlier this week, they showed off a trailer for the update, which will launch April 28, 2021. The site gives details on upcoming characters, events, and artifact sets.

New characters include Yanfei, who received her own trailer, and Eula. Yanfei is Liyue’s legal advisor, and she is a Pyro Catalyst user. Eula is a Captain of the Knights of Favonius Reconnaissance Company, and she is a descendant of the old Mondstadt nobles. She is a Cryo Claymore user whose strikes are elegant but slow and powerful. Zhongli will return to the gacha as well. He is a Geo Polearm character who first appeared in December 2020.

Upcoming events include the Serenitea Pot housing system, a PvP game called Windtrace, and Mimi Tomo, which centers around the Unusual Hilichurl. New world bosses are the Cryo Hypostasis and Azhdaha, though what materials they will drop has not been officially announced yet.

As well, Pale Flame and Tenacity of the Millelith are the new artifact sets. Pale Flame is an offense-oriented set, as it can boost a character’s Physical DMG by 125% if you give them a 4-Piece set. Tenacity of the Millelith seems tailored for Zhongli. It increases HP by 20%, as well as boosts shield strength and ATK of all nearby party members. The character with the set equipped doesn’t even need to stay on the field.

Version 1.5 of Genshin Impact, Beneath the Light of Jadeite, will appear on April 28, 2021. Genshin Impact is readily available on PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and mobile devices. The PlayStation 5 update will go live on the same day as Version 1.5. A Switch version is also in development.
