During the special program for Genshin Impact Version 4.4, HoYoVerse teased upcoming characters and events, as well as released redemption codes for Primogems. This is a brief summary of content you’ll be able to expect in the next update.

The new characters who’ll appear in Version 4.4 will be Xianyun (Cloud Retainer) and Gaming. Xiao, Yae Miko, and Nahida will have their re-run banners as well. There will also be a new story quest that focuses on Xianyun.
From a gameplay standpoint, Version 4.4 will introduce QoL updates to Artifacts. You’ll be able to quickly equip Artifacts depending on set parameters. If you’re not sure which Artifacts to put on someone, you can check out how other people build their characters.
Version 4.4 will also be the Lantern Rite Festival, which will be the main event of the update. As per usual, there are lots of mini-games that you can participate in for fun and for prizes. This year, Fontaine characters will be present in Liyue to celebrate. There will be a new outfit for Xingqiu, which you’ll be able to get as an event reward. Ganyu and Shenhe also have new outfits. At the end of Lantern Rite, you’ll be able to pick a free 4-star Liyue character. This includes Gaming, which means you’ll definitely have the chance to get him even if you don’t pull in the gacha.
Other events include a cooking one, Receiver of Friends From Afar. Characters from all the previous regions you’ve been to will appear as cameos. There will also be a Hilichurl-focused event, Journey Through Hilinigmatic Terrain, in which you sneak into a Hilichurl camp. At the end of it, you have to fight against a unique Samachurl. Triumphant Frenzy will be a battle Domain event that’ll have you use trial characters. Finally, new cards like Sayu and Thoma will appear in Genius Invokation.
Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Version 4.4 of Genshin Impact will come out on January 31, 2024.
