Ghost Trick Remaster Announced for Summer 2023

A classic DS-era puzzle game is coming to current platforms. A Ghost Trick remaster for Switch was announced during the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast on February 8, 2023. It will also appear on PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. The project was hinted at late in 2022 after it appeared in Korean game ratings.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was originally developed by Capcom for the Nintendo DS and later ported to iOS. It stars Sissel, a detective who is murdered and becomes a ghost. Suffering postmortem amnesia, Sissel must solve his own murder and prevent the same fate from happening to others.

To do so he’ll possess inanimate objects around the environment, manipulating them to gather clues, prevent crimes, and get around. Ghost Trick on Switch will be rendered in HD resolution and feature touched-up art to take advantage of higher-resolution screens. The game will also have some new content, including a gallery and jukebox mode. Tile-sliding “Ghost Puzzles” will also add a change of pace.

The Ghost Trick remaster arrives on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC in Summer 2023.
