God of War Art Director Raf Grassetti has completed a rather impressive Star Fox characters series of character portraits. When 2020 began, the artist started releasing portraits of major characters from the series, culminating in an image that depicted all five of the portraits together.
Grassetti kicked off his Star Fox characters collection with Fox McCloud himself. He noted that he has wanted to do this series of portraits since 2019, when he began doing realistic interpretations of Super Smash Bros fighters, and mentioned how much Star Fox as a whole has meant to him.

Fox McCloud ___ Happy 2020 guys! I’m taking the first week of the year to finish a project I’ve been wanting to do since the beginning of 2019 when I started the Smash bro characters. Star Fox is one of those franchises that changed everything for me. I remember playing Nintendo 64 with friends and just being completely mesmerized by only a few polygons Swipe left and let me know which character from the series you would like to see me do next! From there, he moved on to other members of McCloud’s team. Slippy, Falco, and Peppy followed in that order.
The project finally ended with a full scene that combined all of the characters’ portraits and added Wolf O’Donnell, from Star Wolf.
Grassetti is known for sharing his interpretation of iconic characters in original portraits. He’s been working on a Dragon Ball Z collection that includes characters like Frieza and Mr. Satan. He’s also done an array of Super Smash Bros. inspired images, like this one showing his realistic versions of Mario, Luigi, Wario, Yoshi, Bowser Jr, and Bowser.
