My excitement for the Phantasy Star Complete Collection is waning because the Sega Genesis Collection contains most of the emulated games in the Sega Ages release. Phantasy Star I and Phantasy Star II: Nei's Adventure are notably absent from Sega USA’s collection. Fortunately, a bunch of other Sega classics ameliorate the situation. However, the Phantasy Star Complete Collection DX Pack is tempting. It contains the PlayStation 2 Sega Ages compilation, a four disc “Complete Album” set of Phantasy Star music, a Rappy badge and a badge for the upcoming Sega Ages 2500 Series 33: Fantasy Zone II DX release. The DX pack runs for 7,350 yen ($68), which is three times the 2,363 yen ($22) price tag of the lone game! The soundtrack alone costs 5,040 yen ($47).
