Cygames announced that Granblue Fantasy Relink has achieved over a million worldwide sales. The game reached this milestone after only eleven days. [Thanks, Wario64!]
Cygames has uploaded a piece of art commemorating this milestone. It shows Gran, Djeeta, Lyria, and Vyrn cheering. The reception for the game has been highly positive as well. As of the writing, there are almost 17,000 Steam reviews and 89% of it have given it a Very Positive score. Most of the reviews praise the party AI, replay value, and presentation. Meanwhile, negative reviews focus on the “grindy” aspect, balance issues, and the localization.
This news comes after milestones from other major releases during the end of January and early February 2024. On February 2, 2024, Atlus announced that Like a Dragon 8: Infinite Wealth sold over a million copies. Several days later, Atlus announced that Persona 3 Reload sold over a million sales and that it was the fastest-selling Atlus game in history. All three of these games were highly-anticipated releases leading up to early 2024.
Cygames first announced the game in 2016. The game had a somewhat tumultuous production, such as the departure of Platinum Games in 2019. Cygames had to delay Granblue Fantasy Relink several times as well until its sales opened up on February 1, 2024.
