Before he started working on Gravity Rush, Keiichiro Toyama was Sony Computer Entertainment’s fright master. Toyama created Silent Hill for Konami and developed the Siren series for PlayStation 2. Now, he’s working on an entirely different game for PlayStation Vita where you guide an amnesiac girl who can control gravity.
While we were talking about Gravity Rush, I asked Toyama what he wants to do when he finishes the Vita game. "I don’t have a concrete idea right now," Toyama, Director of Gravity Rush answered. "Horror games reach players through fear, which is part of human nature. Gravity Rush is about falling and that is also something people can instinctively understand."
"In my next game, I also want to carry that on and create a game that players can react to on an emotionally and instinctually," Toyama added. I followed up and asked, "What emotion are you most interested in?"
"Fear," Toyama replied.
