Top-down shooter Void Raiders, newly-released on Steam Early Access, lets players keep their character progression after they die during its frantic, challenging shootouts.
Players can choose one of several raiders, each with unique combat abilities, and then set out into the randomly-generated environments. Early runs will often result in a quick death, but as they play, players will earn experience points that will let them unlock skills for each character that persist across every playthrough.
Equipment can also be upgraded across runs by collecting resources at the end of each stage, allowing for more customization and better gear. Players with low levels and gear have access to temporary items that drop during each stage, as well as the option to buy equipment between stages that only lasts for that run.
