Guilty Gear in the third dimension

After years of making 2D fighting games with Ky Kiske, Arc System Works is taking the cast of Guilty Gear and throwing them into a 3D action game that looks strangely similar to Dynasty Warriors. The other surprise is Guilty Gear II: Overture is in development only for the Xbox 360 instead of being a dual platform game. Considering how tight Aksys Games is with Arc System Works, Guilty Gear II: Overture is likely to come out to North America shortly after it is released in Japan.

Like Brandon Sheffield at Insert Credit, I also smirked about how Arc System Works swapped genres for Guilty Gear and Sengoku Basara. What was once a 2D fighting game is now a Dynasty Warriors clone and vice versa. The only thing that would be more amusing is if they did the genre dance with Hoshigami and made a Guilty Gear simulation RPG on the DS.
