So far, Guilty Gear Xrd –SIGN- has one new playable character in the sleepy enigma, Bedman. Soon it will be two, as Arc System Works recently announced in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine that the boss character Ramlethal Valentine will be added to the mix of playable characters in the next update.

Famitsu reports that Ramlethal is a tricky character who uses two swords to fight. She also has a familiar who’ll help her out in the fight, that will give players a chance to come up with all kinds of different attack patterns.

She also has projectile attacks and special throw attack, that will be useful when opponents are guarding, which makes her a character with immense potential.

According to Arc System Works’ planner Kazuto Sekine (aka “Pachi”) the concept behind Ramlethal’s fighting style revolves around her giant sword which can be split and used as two. Depending on the situation, you’ll have a wide repertoire of tricks with the splitting sword, which will vary according to the player’s fight-style.

Since she has many unique combination attacks, she’ll also have different combos and mix-ups which can be used at close-ranged combat, making it one of her best features. With sword mode, sword-split mode, and combos, Ramlethal boasts more ways to attack than other character in the game.

Pachi says that even moving her around is pretty fun, and he hopes you all can get a chance to try her out when she becomes available to play.

Guilty Gear Xrd –SIGN- is currently out on Japanese arcades. PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions are slated for release sometime this year.
