Project X Zone brings dozens of Sega, Namco Bandai, and Capcom characters for a story driven strategy RPG. Most of the characters come in teams like Dante from Devil May Cry and Demitri Maximoff from Darkstalkers. The two characters become buds when late Demitri stops by Devil May Cry (the shop) late one night. Valkyrie from The Legend of the Valkyrie games shows up to first asking Dante to use his toilet.
Meanwhile on the luxurious cruise ship Bermuda, the ICPO and San Francisco City police are working together. That’s how Chun-Li from Street Fighter, Bruno (aka Bruce Willis) from Dynamite Deka, and Rikiya Busujima from Zombie Revenge meet. While they’re investigating the ship they meet a strange guest, Hsien-Ko from Darkstalkers.
If Akira from Virtual Fighter didn’t find Jin team Tekken wouldn’t be in Project X Zone. Jin and Xiaoyu were attacked by a demon and by chance Akira shows up. The player has to move Akira over to the weakened Tekken characters and rescue them.
That’s a small sample of Project X Zone’s storylines. The game comes out in Japan for Nintendo 3DS on October 11.
