First, you should prepare. Ensure you are adequately leveled. Aim for high 60s, at least for your level. Ideally, you should have a balanced build focusing on health, stamina, and your primary damage stats. Equip a strong melee weapon or a powerful ranged option if you prefer magic. Additionally, wear armor with good physical defense.

When you first enter Radahn’s arena, he will start by firing a barrage of gravity arrows at you. These can be devastating if you’re not careful. You can dodge with a well-timed roll, and once you get the chance, rely on the extra maneuverability of Torrent. Since fighting Radahn is part of a festival, summon signs are scattered around the arena to pull in NPCs. These allies can also distract Radahn, allowing you to close the distance safely.

Once you’re close, Radahn will switch to melee attacks. He wields two massive swords and has a wide range of deadly moves. Constantly move to avoid his sweeping attacks. Watch for his tells and dodge roll at the right moment. Try to stay underneath him. This is often the best place to set up for large bosses like this. If you’re a magic user, keep your distance and cast spells when Radahn is distracted by your allies.

When Radahn reaches around 50% health, he will leap into the sky and disappear for a few seconds before crashing down like a meteor. Keep an eye on the sky and be ready to dodge as he comes crashing down. This attack can one-shot you if you’re not careful.

After this, Radahn will become much more aggressive and start incorporating his ranged gravity magic. Patience and timing are crucial. Don’t rush, and wait for the right moment to attack. Additionally, Allies can be summoned if they die, providing continuous support throughout the fight.

One extra note: Radahn is comically weak to Scarlet Rot, to the point that it will melt his health bar if you can procure him with it using something like Rotten Breath. Something to keep in mind if you feel like taking a path of … less resistance. With persistence and strategic play, you’ll eventually bring down Starscourge Radahn and claim victory. Good luck, Tarnished!

Elden Ring is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Shadow of Erdtree DLC appears on June 21, 2024.
