How to Check Final Fantasy XIV Server Status

When new expansions launch for Final Fantasy XIV, it also means an influx of player. This leads to overcrowding and difficulty getting in to play. However, it is very easy to check FFXIV server status to see how each Physical Data Center and its Worlds in each region are doing both in-game and via the official site.

How do I check the server status via the Final Fantasy XIV game client?

To check the server status using the game client, you just have to open the launcher as usual. While on the login screen, you’ll see a meteor icon in the top right corner. Its color will change according to the server status. If it is green, it is online. If it is yellow, it is in partial maintenance. Red means that maintenance is going on.

If you want a more thorough explanation, you can click on the icon. This will lead you to the server status screen. I do this when I have issues, and it lets me choose which data center to check on specifically.

How do I check the FFXIV server status via The Lodestone?

You can also check the statys of the game via Square Enix’s Lodestone Server Status website. A full list of data centers and their respective servers’ status information will appear.

This will show the name of each World under their Data Center. The state of the world will be shown next to it. So ahead of the FFXIV Dawntrail launch, Dynamis debuted with the Cuchulainn, Golem, Halicarnassus, Kraken, Maduin, Marilith, Rafflesia, and Seraph worlds. As such, each one showed as “new” and with an icon highlighting someone could make a new character there. However, in the case of Aether, all of its worlds’ showed as “congested” with new character creation unavailable after early access started on June 2, 2024. Additionally, this can help people looking to travel to other data centers as well, as it lets you know if it’s congested and a move is possible beforehand.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X.
