Hogwarts Legacy Wizard and Gryphon

How to Get Avada Kedavra Spell in Hogwarts Legacy

If you are thinking about jumping into Hogwarts Legacy and are wondering if the best part is all the childlike wonder or the magical world you will explore, you’d be wrong on both counts. The best bit of Hogwarts Legacy is actually all the murder you can get up to. In this version of Hogwarts, the only unforgivable curse is actually failing class, it seems, so if you want to break out the Avada Kedavra spell on some unsuspecting enemies, this is how to get it.

For players who want to be able to strike down an enemy with a killing curse, you will need to buddy up to Sebastian in House Slytherin. Sebastian is all about dueling and seems to just be in it for the friendly competition. He does tell you upon first meeting him that you can’t learn everything you need from school books, but that is little reason to believe the kid is a wannabe murderer who would dabble in the Unforgivable Curses.

All you need to do is play through the various quests that Sebastian will offer you until you reach a quest called “In the Shadow of the Relic.” You will need to make sure to check in with Sebastian and not miss this quest when you get to level 28, as it is not part of the main story. When Sebastian ends up telling you about the spell, be sure to select the “Yes, please” dialogue option. It is also a very difficult quest, and it’s a good idea to be a level or two higher than the minimum level 28 that you need to be for the quest to appear. The quest involves quite a bit of combat against some tough enemies.

Interestingly, using the spell won’t affect your game in any way that I could see. Nobody will really remark on the fact that you know a spell that is supposed to signify someone as being a pretty bad person.

Hogwarts Legacy is available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, and PC via early access, and will be available to everyone on February 10, 2023.
