Once you gain access to Cid’s hideaway in Final Fantasy XVI, the Orchestrion (jukebox) that plays rolls (music) opens up too. This feature remains in the pub area. Visiting it lets you change the track playing in the hub while you’re there. However, you won’t immediately have access to its over 20 songs right away. So, here’s how you can get more.
How to collect more Orchestrion Rolls in Final Fantasy XVI to hear more music
It is physically impossible to immediately get all 24 Orchestrion Rolls. This is because of how they are acquired. It’s a mix of methods. Some tracks will be sold by merchants at towns like Loftwing and Martha’s Rest. Others will be unlocked as you go through the game’s story. You’ll hear certain songs at specific moments. When you do, those Orchestrion Rolls will automatically be added to your Final Fantasy XVI hideaway. You’ll also find songs locked behind renown, a currency that opens up later in the game and is accrued as you perform good deeds by taking on story missions and sidequests.
Like many icons in the hub, the Orchestrion’s updates when you get new tracks. You can tell if new songs you picked up are there if there’s a + next to the icon.
Just know if you do want a full collection of Final Fantasy XVI music, it’s going to cost you. Additional tracks can cost 20,000 to 40,000 gil.
Final Fantasy XVI is available for the PlayStation 5. There is a six-month exclusivity period.
