Aithon FFXIV

How to Get the Aithon Whistle in FFXIV

Final Fantasy XIV offers a plethora of mounts for players to collect, ranging from meticulously constructed magitek to fearsome looking dragons. Obtaining these mounts can be as simple as going through the main scenario, or by running Savage or Extreme trials. One such mount players can obtain in FFXIV is the Aithon, and in order to do so players will need it’s whistle. This can be done in one of two ways, with both being relatively simple depending on how you’d like to go ab out it.

The Aithion is a unique horse mount that drops from The Bowl of Embers Extreme. Running The Bowl of Embers Extreme in FFXIV will have a chance of dropping the Aithon Whistle, which will grant the player the fiery red horse. Thankfully, running The Bowl of Embers is extremely simple now, and relatively quick. And unlocking it can be done with ease as well. The only requirements to unlock The Bowl of Embers Extreme are as follows:

  • Must be a Disciple of War or Magic Level 50
  • Have the “Ifrit Ain’t Broke” quest unlocked

From there, you will have access to The Bowl of Embers Extreme. You can run this unsync’d through the duty finder menu to breeze through this Extreme trial in a flash. However, keep in mind that if you are not running this at level 90 unsync, you will want to refrain from burning Ifrit down below 15% without doing the nail mechanic. Otherwise, you will instantly wipe and die.

Another method is to participate in the Moogle Treasure Trove event and obtain the Aithon Whistle using Irregular Tomestones of Mendacity. It can be purchased for 30 Irregular Tomestones of Mendacity through the applicable vendor in Gridania, Ul’dah, and Limsa Lominsa.

Final Fantasy XIV is immediately available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
