How to Get the FFXIV Magitek Predator Mount

Among the many things you can strive to do on Final Fantasy XIV is to unlock mounts for easy and fashionable traveling across the maps. One such mount is a menacing machine called the Magitek Predator, which has been available since patch 4.0. There are two main ways players can acquire this mount. One is either by completing a Stormblood dungeon, and the other is by saving up tomestones during a FFXIV Moogle Treasure Trove event.

To unlock the mount the traditional way, you will need the Magitek Predator Identification Key, which you can receive as a rare drop from completing Ala Mhigo, the last dungeon in the FFXIV Stormblood main questline. You may need to repeat this level 70 duty a number of times, since the odds of getting one is determined by RNG. To make your job easier, queue up for the duty with a group of friends and set an order of acquisition if needed.

However, if repeating the same dungeon several times is not your ideal way to play FFXIV, you can try to get it via an Itinerant Moogle. The current Moogle Treasure Trove event running up to the launch of Patch 6.4 offers the Magitek Predator Identification Key as an exchangeable item. You will need 50 Irregular Tomestones of Mendacity to claim it, which can be obtained by playing PvP duties or completing a selective number of dungeons and raids.

Once you have saved enough Irregular Tomestones of Mendacity, you can claim the item for the FFXIV Magitek Predator mount by talking to an Itinerant Moogle posted in Limsa Lominsa (X:9.4, Y:11.6), New Gridania (X:12.4, Y:12.1), or Ul’dah (X:9.6, Y:9.1). It should be noted that it is a market prohibited item, so you won’t find it nor be able to sell it through the Marketboard.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC, and the Moogle Treasure Trove event is up until the launch of patch 6.4.
