How to Recruit Kerrin in Eiyuden Chronicle

Pretty much immediately after Nowa gets established in his new castle in Eiyuden Chronicle, you can head out to recruit Kerrin the lumberjack. Which is handy, since it means you can build a new facility at the base.

How do I recruit Kerrin in Eiyuden Chronicle?

After naming your castle, head to the southwest. There is one forest you can enter on the map called the Dappled Forest. Once you get there, head to the house immediately to the east. Kerrin is standing outside.

Kerrin is willing to join, but you need to prove yourself. That means getting 20 pieces of lumber. Fortunately, the trees around the Dappled Forest all provide it. Gathering at each one, which is highlighted by an animation, gives you five pieces.

Take those 20 pieces back to Kerrin to recruit the character for your new town.

Is Kerrin good in Eiyuden Chronicle?

Kerrin is helpful, in that the Woodcutter’s Cabin that gives you a means of getting lumber and fruit can be built at your castle once you recruit the character. You need 300 Headquarters Funds, 20 Stones, and Kerrin for that. You’ll get the cabin and 40 more people in return.

However, Kerrin isn’t handy as your party’s optional support. You only get more lumber and materials at logging points with the character in the party. I recommend keeping Cassandra around initially instead, since that lets you access the Party Formation screen at any save point.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is available on the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
