After the Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes prologue, there’s a six month timeskip and Ymir tasks you with getting “a few more members for the watch” to increase the number of characters in your party before you’ll be given a mission. However, unlike many other quests here, there are no arrows or guides telling you where to go or what to do. Here’s how to fulfill his request and move forward.
How do I get “a few more members for the Watch” in Eiyuden Chronicle?
Well, naturally you will need to leave Eltisweiss. What Ymir wants you to do is build up a full party of characters. That means you need to visit some local locations in the area to add them to your group. In particular, you need to go to Altverden Village and Fort Xialuke to recruit the characters Francesca, Kuroto, and Yusuke in order to get the “few more members for the Watch” in Eiyuden Chronicle.
Here’s the full map of where everyone is in Grum County. I recommend heading West to Alverden for Francesca and to hear what Kuroto wants before he’ll join, before you head to get Yusuke from the fort in the north and head to the Redthroat Ridge mountain area to hunt wild boars.
In Altverden, Francesca will join right away, but Kuroto says he’ll only join you after you prove yourself by defeating five wild boars at Redthroat Ridge. Kuroto is in the southwest part of the village in front of his home. Talking to him will let you take his request. Head to the northwest part of town, and you’ll overhear an argument. That’s where you’ll find the healer Francesca being accosted. Once you talk with her, you have the option of recruiting her immediately, which I recommend.
After that, head north to Fort Xialuke. When you enter the area, Nowa will overhear Yusuke being hassled by soldiers about being a bandit. He’ll insist he’s a desperado (even though I say he’s clearly a bancho). Stand up for him, and you’ll get a chance to recruit him.
From there, go to Redthroat Ridge. Battles have a random chance of having one or two wild boar enemies in them. Fight until you defeat five of them. Then, head back to Altverden and tell Kuroto that you defeated them. He will then join your party.
After that, return to Eltisweiss and the Hero’s Den where Ymir waits. If you did everything right, you’ll find an event scene with Sabine will trigger. Hear her out, then head to Ymir. He’ll acknowledge you did what he asked, then send you back to Altverden to talk to them about their bandit problem and search for a solution.
