How to Use Items in Theatrhythm

As you play through Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, you’ll find you often get various items you can use! Maybe they’re rewards for hitting certain Rhythmia goals by continuing to go through tracks. They could be a bonus for completing a challenge in a Series Quests stage. However, these extras end up divided between different areas, which might make you wonder where they are and how you can use them. Well, let’s answer those questions.

How to Use Theatrhythm Final Bar Line Items During Songs

To use an item during a song, you need to select it ahead of playing a track. On the screen before you head into one, where you pick your difficulty, you’ll see six orbs with item icons in them above your party. You can toggle on or off Potion, Hi-Potion, Phoenix Down, Silver Growth Egg, Gold Growth Egg, and Mog’s Amulet usage here. Remember to toggle them off before the next song, otherwise it will say “on” until you run out of that kind of item.

Here’s the full list of the six items and what they do. All of them automatically kick in, so you don’t need to press any extra buttons while you play.

  • Potion: Used when HP drops below 20%. Restores 30% HP.
  • Hi-Potion: Used when HP drops below 15%. Restores 50% HP.
  • Phoenix Down: Used when HP drops to 0. Restores 30% HP.
  • Silver Growth Egg: Used at the beginning of the Music Stage. Multiplies EXP gained by 2.
  • Gold Growth Egg: Used at the beginning of the Music Stage. Multiplies EXP gained by 4.
  • Mog Amulet: Used at the beginning of the Music Stage. Doubles CollectaCards dropped.

How to Use Theatrhythm Final Bar Line Items on Characters

Some of the rewards you’ll get are means of permanently adjusting the characters you’ve collected. To use these items in Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, you need to head to the Edit Party menu. If you scroll over a character, you’ll see an option to use items on that person. Pressing the button, square on the PS4/PS5, brings up a menu of improvement items available.

These tend to fall into two categories. One type is a scroll. This allows you to teach a specific character an additional ability. So the Rhythmia Plus Scroll teaches them Rhythmia Plus. When that’s equipped, you get more Rhythmia for each Music Stage completed. However, you can also get the “Plus” items like Power Plus or Magic Plus, which increase strength or magic stats. Regardless of the type, these are permanent additions that alter a character.

Theatrhythm Final Bar Line is available for the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
