On December 25 Hudson will take a stab at the medical drama genre with Team Batista no Eikou (Glory of Team Batista). Unlike Atlus’ Trauma Center series Team Batista appears to be more story oriented. Hudson is calling the game a medical mystery adventure which probably means you won’t be blasting terrorist germs with a laser. This screenshot suggests you will get to play with an MRI machine though.
While the Trauma Center games took off in North America the medical drama genre didn’t explode the same way in Japan. So, will Hudson localize Team Batista for North America? Right now, the plan is no. I asked Kunji Katsuki, Executive Vice President at Hudson Soft, what their international plans were for Team Batista. He told me, “The story is very Japanese so we’re not sure it’s going to make it outside the country.”
