Not too long ago, Falcom used to bring their games to consoles. These days the developer has been focusing on the PSP by designing games like Ys SEVEN and Ys vs. Sora no Kiseki specifically for Sonyā€™s handheld.

Will Falcom ever go back to console development? ā€œWeā€™re constantly evaluating and researching all platforms and of course home consoles are one of them,ā€ Toshihiro Kondo, President of Nihon Falcom replied. ā€œWe are thinking of releasing a home console game if the conditions are right.ā€

ā€œSince downloads have a wide range of price and content, I think it has big potential for us,ā€ Kondo responded when I asked him if digital platforms like WiiWare, PSN, and Xbox Live Arcade were an option.

ā€œIt is a place where we can bring our old titles, but if we were to try that, rather than simply porting a previously released packaged title for download sales, I would like to create something new where the contents of the game are made specifically for the download market.ā€
