Most games that get simultaneous releases for PlayStation3 and Vita tend to be the same when it comes to story and gameplay, but it isn’t the case for Spike Chunsoft’s recently announced Samurai action games. The official website tells us a little more.
The stories of Patriot of Ukiyo for PlayStation 3 and Ronin of Ukiyo on PlayStation Vita have different stories based on famous Japanese historic figures in alternate stories.
In Patriot of Ukiyo, you’ll play as an amnesiac Sakamoto Ryoma, that will tell a story as to how and why his memories got lost, why Japan is becoming a secluded nation. The story will share events from historic cases that really happened, but with different interpretations.
Here are some of the characters that will appear in the PlayStation 3 game:
Sakamoto Ryoma:
A samurai who lost his memories in Dejima, Nagasaki, and was found naked and unconscious.
Katsu Kaishu:
A man of the government, with plans to start an organization to overthrow the Shogunate.
Narasaki Ryo (Oryo):
A young girl who appeared in front of the memory-lost protagonist. There seems to be something very mysterious about this girl.
Ronin of Ukiyo revolves around Okita Yoshijiro, with a story that will investigate various murder cases that happened for the sake of peace and order. The story is centered around the change of the Shinsengumi, a special police force of the Bakufu (military government) during an era of turbulence
Here are the characters that will appear in Ronin of Ukiyo:
Okita Yoshijiro:
The child of Okita Soji’s older sister. He’s a kind man, and a member of the Shinsengumi who wishes for peace for those around him.
Okita Soji:
While Okita Soji might look like a tomboy girl, he actually possesses extraordinary strength.
Kondo Isami:
Kondo Isami is the commander of the Shinsengumi. He’s your traditional samurai with a strict personality and a heavy respect for rules.
Patriot of Ukiyo is in development for PlayStation 3, and Ronin of Ukiyo for PlayStation Vita.
