The last pair of new characters had an assassin by the name Renard, and a special Seraph named Simone. The latest issue of Jump magazine reveals two new characters, and they’re both kind old men who’ll be there to help Sorey and friends. [Thanks, @kazu4281.]
Mervin is the man to on the right, who helps out Sorey with advice as a veteran adventurer, and is the owner of a certain heavenly transcript . The reason for his journey seems to be a secret…
The old man on the left is Jiiji, the elder of Izuchi. He adores Sorey and Mikleo, as he raised them since they were kid. They say that he’s pretty scary when he gets angry. Jiiji also protects Izuchi with a powerful barrier and the power of lightning.
The Jump report also mentions that the game has sub-events, which are basically short episodes that are unrelated to the main story, but will give you a better idea of what goes on in the background of the world of Tales of Zestiria.
Tales of Zestiria will release in Japan on January 22, 2015 for PlayStation 3.
