Kadokawa has announced that they are publishing a an isekai genre light novel featuring The King of Fighters‘ Iori Yagami as the protagonist. [Thanks, @TeamPowerGeyser on Twitter!]
Titled The King of Fantasy: Iori Yagami’s Isekai Musou, the novel sees Iori about to finish a showdown with his eternal rival Kyo Kusanagi when he is suddenly transported into a fantasy world. After saving a female knight named Altena, she recommends that he should join a fighting tournament in the Principality of Esaga. There, he’ll have to face off against goblins, dragons, and even more.

The light novel is set to release on July 5, 2019, and is written by Archaic Chain writer Nobuhiko Tenga, and illustrated by KOF series legacy artist Eisuke Ogura.
