Makoto Ito returns from School Days and he’s on spring break. The bad news (or maybe good news?) is he’s stuck on a desert island with his female classmates. You have to help him forage for food, find a way off the island, and befriend girls.

Island Days plays like a visual novel in story mode. You spend time with the heroines and make decisions that changes your relationship during events. Makoto might be friends with a girl or spark a romance. However, fights could break out on the island if you don’t consider the temperament of everyone in the group.

Island Days also has a battle part that plays like a tower defense game. You have to protect your food from wild animals by placing characters on the map to block the animals from moving forward. If you fail to defend your base you could get a bad ending. The two modes are connected. You can get weapons for the battle part in story mode. How the girls feel about Makoto can rise during the battle part.

Island Days comes out on May 1 for Nintendo 3DS. Some retailers are offering an art book and soundtrack CD as a bonus that goes along with purchases.
