Limited Run Games is bringing all four classic Jak and Daxter PlayStation 2 games to the PS4 as physical and Collector’s Edition versions that will only be available in limited quantities.
The Jak and Daxter: Precursor Legacy is available in two editions with the Standard Edition that is limited to 5,000 copies at $24.99 and the Collector’s Edition that is limited to 2,500 copies for $74.99. While the first batch of the Collector’s Edition has already sold out, the next batch will be available in about 6 hours and 30 minutes from now, or 3:00pm PT/6:00pm ET.
Here’s what the Collector’s Edition includes:
- Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy physical game for the PlayStation 4, which includes a full-color physical manual and reversible cover art.
- 90+ page foil stamped hardcover book featuring never before seen design documents from Naughty Dog’s original production binders.
- Physical soundtrack CD, which includes demos and unreleased material.
- A premium metal replica Precursor Orb.
- An 18 x 24 inch replica of the original development team poster.
- A sealed foil pack of premium high-gloss foil trading cards.
- A custom black 16GB USB drive shaped like a PlayStation 2 memory card.
- A beautiful gold foil stamped book inspired box.
Fans who purchase all four games of either Standard/Collector’s Editions will earn a free bonus mock case for Jak 4, a game that never was as a way to preserve and celebrate the history and legacy of the Jak series, including the history that never came to be.
The mock case includes a code for a custom PS4 theme based on Naughty Dog’s original late-00’s Jack 4 concept art. This will be the only way to acquire this item. As for the Jack 4 mock case, it’ll be mailed out after June 30, 2019 for fans who purchase all four games.
In celebration of the physical releases of the Jak and Daxter series, PlayStation and Naughty Dog are releasing a new classic Jak and Daxter theme for PS4 as well as some stickers for Apple Devices now available on the App Store. Lastly, Fangamer is releasing a retro Jak and Daxter t-shirt created by Nina Matsumoto.
Jak II, Jack 3, and Jak X: Combat Racing released yesterday as a PS2 Classics title on PlayStation 4. Limited Run Games will release Standard & Collector’s Editions of Jak II, Jak 3, and Jak X: Combat Racing by June 2019 (actual release dates may be sooner, but all purchases are expected to be fulfilled by June 30, 2019).
