Japanese Wii Exclusive Earth Seeker Gets Full English Fan Translation

Back in 2011, Kadokawa Games released an action game exclusively on the Nintendo Wii called Earth Seeker. Over the years, there was some interest shown by localization companies about bringing the game Westward, but it never happened. Earlier this month, Brand Newman and their team released a full English fan translation for the game.

The game was produced by Enterbrain and developed by Crafts & Meister, the developer that would later develop the Gundam Breaker series. Game design was headed by Noritaka Funamizu, the former Street Fighter series producer and Monster Hunter (PS2) executive director.

Earth Seeker takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where humankind has created several thousand spaceship in order to escape impending doom from a black hole. However, due to mysterious gamma waves at a star system found during the journey, all life aboard the ships was wiped out. The spaceship’s computer continues to search for an inhabitable planet, and crash lands, leading to the scattering of Earth’s heritage across the planet. Due to malfunctions from the crash, the AI activates the Earth Reclamation Program with errors that cause the planet’s creatures to evolve into strange creatures and monsters.

A thousand years later, a new species of humankind called Earthnoids emerge on the planet. A journey to revive humankind that leads our protagonists across the planet is about to begin.

Earth Seeker is quest-based, usually with a boss monster to fight and a Heritage to find. Moving and dodging is done in real-time, but attacking will cost Action Cartridges and time is stopped when you attack. Action Cartridges are replenished over time or via items. There are also Guardians, little creatures that act like minions, who deal damage to enemies over time.
