Players will take control of a goofy jester with a heroic quest in Jester’s Quest, an action/exploration game that will make the player more powerful depending on how many fairy friendships they can make.
Jester’s Quest has players saving kingdoms and princesses, doing so through exploration and fighting monsters across fifty different areas. He’ll also have to chat with some of these creatures in order to continue, using a symbol system that replaces words, letting players communicate using pictures, rather than words. This serves to keep the story simple and easy to understand no matter which language players speak.
Players will want to find and befriend any fairies they meet along the way. Fairies grant the player powerful skills, like the ability to fling magical poisons and fireballs, get through locked doors, or charge up the jester’s silly weapon, the pogocello, to devastating effect.
Jester’s Quest strives for a smooth animations, reminiscent of older Lucasarts games. Through frame by frame animation of various body parts and a high attention to detail, the developers have worked to ensure everything looks delightful in motion.
Jester’s Quest is currently raising votes on Steam Greenlight, and is expected to release in Q2 of 2018.
