Juanito Arcade Mayhem Offers Animated Looks At Classic Games

Juanito Arcade Mayhem pits a single, pajama-clad boy against an alien threat to classic arcade games, having him use an array of blasters to shoot down goopy, highly animated creatures from space.

Donkey Kong, Arkanoid, Tetris, and more have all been overrun with an alien infection, and Juanito must enter the afflicted arcade cabinet in order to free the games and characters within. Doing so will require use of the game’s many blasters and power-ups, all of which will let the player keep a constant stream of fire going up at the threat that’s coming down from above. Having a local co-op partner might help with this as well.

Aliens dropping from above aren’t the only danger in these games, as each stage brings dangers from the eight classic games that inspired it. Tetris blocks may rain down on Juanito’s head, Master Higgins may start hurling hammers around, or other familiar threats may appear from those games just to add some extra difficulty.

Juanito Arcade Mayhem features a fluid animation style, giving each boss and enemy a cartoon-like feel. This adds some visual appeal to the process of clearing out gross aliens, and allows for some varied interpretations of old game heroes and locations.
