This means that around 2017, Harada was probably thinking about the concept behind the character. He noted the idea for her first started coming to mind then. As a reminder, Tekken 7 debuted on consoles and PCs back in 2017. So this means he’d been thinking about her since around the last installment.

Here’s the full post about the Tekken 8 character Azucena Harada made on social media.

He also talked about the fighter’s development on his Harada’s Bar show. When he did, he cited his interest in the Nazca Lines and they first came up with her personality, then built up everything else around the fighter.

In case you forgot how she looks, here’s her reveal trailer from 2023. It shows her character model, offers an idea of her personality, and showcases her fighting abilities in a few matches.

Tekken 8 is available for the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. There’s no word yet on upcoming DLC fighters for the game.
