Life As A Hostess, Hands-On Girls RPG: Cinderella Life

At Level-5 World, I checked out Girls RPG: Cinderella Life, which is far from your typical "role playing game." There are no monsters to fight or dank dungeons with treasure chests. You do play a role and that is of a country girl who heads to the big city to live with her aunt.

When you arrive at Neo Ginza your custom created character’s eyes light up especially when she meets the cabaret club girls caked with make up. They give her an invitation to Castle, the most popular cabaret club in town. My character, lets call her Cinderella, went home (still dressed in plain country clothes) thought about it for a night and then decided to go for it. Your room is customizable and a brief portion of the demo let me move a bed around with the touch screen. Girls RPG: Cinderella Life will have more decorative items like rugs, chairs, and wallpaper. Think of this mode as Animal Crossing lite.

03_ëµû-Ä-É^ Before I headed to Castle, I walked around town. Level-5 created a modern looking city with convenience stores and department stores to visit. I couldn’t go inside any of these though, but the feeling they were trying to capture is the scene when you step outside of a Tokyo train station and see all of the businesses in front of you.

When I got to Castle, I thought I would get to play the part where you sit down and talk with Lupin the Third or Tuxedo Mask. However, only things I could do was meet the girls and get dolled up. The demo cut off shortly after my character transformed to a cabaret girl in training.

Girls RPG: Cinderella Life is slated for release in February 2012 for Nintendo 3DS.
