The English port of Lost Technology touts twelve playable factions, although the game currently only features story events for three of those factions. Players can choose to play as any of the twelve varied factions in the game, but will only be able to experience the combat phases of those factions. The developer has stated that they will be attempting to translate further faction stories depending on sales, and intends to release them as DLC.

Upon choosing their faction, players will be tasked with several phases of warfare. To begin, players will work through a turn-based phases where they can move their armies across the map, recruit troops and comrades(of which 100 powerful units are available), and form diplomatic connections with other factions. Once positioned, the player can enter the real-time phase, where they will control their army in various combat conditions against their enemies, guiding units of troops and their powerful heroes to destroy their enemies.

Depending on who the player attacks or befriends, and how combat goes, players will unlock various story sequences and character interactions. These are only currently available for the Reinald Empire, Makan, and Álfheim factions at the moment.

The English port of Lost Technology is available now on Steam and the Playism store.
