Mario Sports Superstars has a North American launch date. On March 24, 2017, Nintendo 3DS owners will be able to follow Mario and 17 of his friends as they enjoy baseball games, rounds of golf, horse racing, soccer games, and tennis matches. People can play alone, by going through single player tournaments or training, or compete against friends in local or online multiplayer.

In addition, Mario Sports Superstars will support amiibo and be getting its own line of amiibo cards. The Mario Sports Superstars amiibo cards will be sold in $4.99 blind packs. Each pack will have five random character cards, and the official website says tapping one will unlock a superstar version of the playable character shown on the card. For a limited amount of time, physical copies of the Nintendo 3DS game will include one amiibo card.
