p>All us old ones look back fondly on the gaming past. As new ex-Disney Interactive developers Shark Punch point out, however, replaying older games now often hits us with “how crappy the experience turned out to be in reality.”
Following a discussion along those lines, the three-man dev team decided to do something about it with their upcoming game, The Masterplan.
About “the greatest heist in the history of mankind”, the game will be set in the 1970s era when Nixon abolished the gold standard. Put two and two together and it shouldn’t be hard to see what the goal of the game’s about.
The Masterplan claims it draws inspiration from both tactical turn-based games and classic heist movies alike and will have players putting together the perfect crew, equipment and plan together to rob us some sweet, sweet Au. The game will meld a physics-based world and a real-time with pause system (Think Baldur’s Gate and Dragon’s Age) and utilize hand-drawn 2D art.
The Masterplan is planned for a 2014 release on PC, Mac and Linux.
