Mecha and Megazone 23

Compile Heart has a Playstation 3 exclusive game in development, based on the 1980s Megazone 23 OVA. Megazone 23: Aoi Garland is part adventure game where you interact with characters from the series and part command based mecha combat simulator where you choose attack commands from a window. However, it doesn’t look like Megazone 23: Aoi Garland is a sci-fi RPG, it’s more like an adventure game with combat. Before you engage in giant robot combat you can pick your path and choose who you are going to fight during the cockpit phase.

Reviving Megazone 23 after nearly twenty years is out of the blue news and it’s more surprising that it is a Playstation 3 exclusive. The content is fairly obscure too. Maybe it is attractive enough to pull in grown up Megazone 23 fans with full time jobs to purchase a Playstation 3.
