Play as Bathoryn, a warrior out to liberate six towers from the monstrous warlords that have overtaken them, in gory hack n’ slash sidescroller Slain!, now available on Steam and coming to Wii U, PS4, Vita, and Xbox One in the next few months.

Most enemies will fall to the player’s huge sword, carved into bloody pieces. Still, the player also has access to elemental magic that will tear their enemies into bloody pieces, although knowing their weaknesses and the right timing to cast your spells will be key to your survival.

Bathoryn needs to be careful, or he will meet his end in several gruesome ways. The developer has put a lot of work into making the player’s death into a visual spectacle, mashing them to pulp, beheading them, burning them alive, and finding many other unpleasant ways to kill them.

The visuals, inspired by past arcade hack n’ slashers and heavy metal, are matched with the game’s metal soundtrack, pairing pounding music to the violent bloodshed.
