Meet More NEO TWEWY Shinjuku Reapers

Square Enix’s been gradually sharing more details about the different characters and mechanics in NEO The World Ends with You. The latest information goes over some of the antagonists. The Reapers’ Game is in full effect again in NEO TWEWY, and the new details talk about the Shinjuku Reapers people will meet and Nagi’s Dive Psych ability.

In particular, more information about four characters came up. The first one of the NEO TWEWY Shinjuku Reapers to be discussed is Ayano. She’s voiced by Erin Yvette and is one of the more senior members of the community. She’s generally cold, but is close to the other Shinjuku Reaper Shoka and “dotes” on her. Kubo, voiced by Xander Mobus, is a condescending manager who’s only courteous to Shiba. Hishima, who is voiced by James Austin Kerr, is intelligent, a mystery, and seems as though he isn’t as involved. Finally, Kaie talks to the players periodically via text, telling fortunes and offering hints. When he does talk, he’s voiced by Josey Montana McCoy.

A few of the other game mechanics came up as well. If you’re lost and unsure of what to do next in NEO TWEWY, people can check Rindo’s Mental Notes for a summary of the current mission. It’s under Thoughts, just like the Social Network. This section lets you see who everyone is and how they are connected to other players. You can use Friendship Points here to buy rewards.

Finally, Square Enix talked about Nagi’s Psych. Each person has a special ability. For example, Fret can use Remind to convince an NPC to remember some data you might need to complete a mission. Nagi can use Dive to get into the head of someone under the negative influence of Noise to clear them out and restore them.

NEO The World Ends with You will come to the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on July 27, 2021. The PC version will appear on the Epic Games Store in Summer 2021.
