Barret’s gang in Mega Man Legends 3 are called the “Bright Bats”. Capcom held another competition for fans to send in their designs for the gang’s mascot, and received over 450 submissions between Japan and overseas territories. Here’s the winning entry:
That’s Tinker, created by a fan going by “Espiownage”. He’s a cute little ferret the Bright Bats came across one day, and is wearing a Reaverbot eye on the belt around his waist. Tinker likes to tinker with machines (hence the name) and has a habit of sitting on Barret’s shoulder. Espiownage comments that he was inspired by something former Capcom R&D head, Keiji Inafune, once said about creating characters with unique silhouettes when designing the character.
