Metal Slug XX is making its way to a new platform. PlayStation 4 owners who missed it on the Nintendo DS (as Metal Slug 7) or PlayStation Portable can now find it on the PlayStation Store. This is the ultimate version of the game, thanks to a number of additions exclusive to this edition.
Some of the PlayStation 4 version’s improvements are things people would expect from such a port. There are trophies, including a Platinum one, it uses DualShock 4s and adds vibration options, it has high resolution borders and it has 4K resolution support. You can play alone or with a friend, either locally or online through Share Play. But some of the other extras are bonuses that may not have been as expected. Leona is immediately available as a playable character, meaning you can choose from seven different people at the start. It also has multiple scanline options, with people able to choose between filters like TV, that mimics a CRT monitor, and Arcade, which looks like an arcade machine monitor.
Metal Slug XX releases for PlayStation 4 on May 29, 2018. It is also available on the PlayStation Portable and Xbox 360. On the Nintendo DS, it can be found as Metal Slug 7.
