Metroid: Samus Returns Shows Off Its Spider Ball Feature And Boss Fights

Recommended Videos

During this year’s E3, Nintendo surprised Metroid fans with the announcement of Metroid: Samus Returns, a reimagining of the 1991 Game Boy title, Metroid II: Return of Samus. The game’s release is not far off, with its launch scheduled for mid-September, and IGN recently got the chance to play a little of the 3DS exclusive.

You can check out the 15 minutes of new gameplay in the following video.

The video features a look at gameplay fairly soon after the game’s intro, and we get a look at a couple of boss fights. The Spider Ball feature of Samus’s Morph Ball ability is also shown off, which lets her climb walls easily.

Metroid: Samus Returns will release exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS on September 15th, 2017.
