Midnight Ultra tasks players with gunning down witches, ghouls, and thugs across its multicolored world, staying light on their feet as they try to survive an onslaught of oddball enemies.
Players guide a Witch Hunter in Midnight Ultra, one who will have a hard time staying alive with so many enemies coming to kill them in such a hurry. Drawing inspiration from Quake and Doom, players won’t have any shield to help them as enemies constantly rush them. All they can do is make smart use of the one firearm and one melee weapon they can carry, keep moving, and use their double jumping powers to stay ahead of the enemies coming their way.
Midnight Ultra offers a twisting story to go along with its surreal visual style, one where the developers state that “not everything is at it seems, and the physical trappings of reality aren’t always guaranteed…”. Players can unlock various color schemes as they work through the two to three hour story as well, should the game’s original colors not suit the game’s strange world, in their mind.
