Monster Hunter Rise Palamute Will Be an Attack Supporter

This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information

One of the new friendly faces in the upcoming Monster Hunter Switch game will maybe make exploring its world easier. We’ll see a Monster Hunter Rise Palamute for the first time. This is basically a dog supporter that players can ride on and fight alongside.

While Palicos are considered a support type buddy, the Palamute is an attacker. It will fight alongside Hunters as they face off against new and old monsters. Not that the Palicos don’t, but the Palamutes seem to be offensive only.

They’ll also give people a way to explore without expending as much energy. When you ride on the Monster Hunter Rise Palamute, you won’t lose any stamina but will still maintain that speed and be able to do things like scale some cliffs. You’ll also be able to perform actions while riding, with the Monster Hunter Direct specifically pointing out the ability to use items and regenerate health.

You’ll also be able to decide your party makeup when you explore alone in Monster Hunter Rise. You can have two supporters in a solo trek. If you want, you could take one Palamute and one Palico. You could also take two Palamutes or two Palicos with you.

Monster Hunter Rise will come to the Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021. If you pre-order, you’ll get some realistic Palamute and Palico layered armor.
